Post 4: Time Travel

 Hello everyone, this time I will talk about time travel, and specifically about where I would like to go, whether to the past or the future.

Literary Generation of '38

I would like to go to the past, to this same country, to Chile between the 40s and 60s. Mainly, because of the cultural boom that Latin America suffered in those years, the heyday of literary groups, and the conflicts between them, the formation of the first national cinema, the first musical investigations. I would like to meet great exponents of contemporary art such as Luis Advis or Gustavo Becerra, Margot Loyola or María Luisa Bombal. Being able to understand the impact of artistic works such as Pablo Neruda's General Song or the emergence of Jazz in Chile, as well as being able to observe the cultural and social behavior of yesteryear.

I would not like to stay in this era, perhaps only look at it in passing, because although it was a fruitful cultural era, much of it was based on the suffering and martyrdom of the popular classes, their exclusion and marginalization. Personally, I don't think it would be much different for me.

Hello! I forgot the "publish" button, so this blog was left in "draft" mode. Still I will leave it in its original version: In this post I'll talk about my actual job, although I'm not sure it exists. I would like to be able to compose, but at the same time investigate, following the example of Gabriela Pizarro or Violeta Parra. I imagine it with the possibility of traveling, getting to know and getting to know different musical styles, musical environments and musical subjects. To do this, I would currently need a PhD or a master's degree, but the possibility of knowing, understanding and talking to people seems more important to me. My best concert: The Mars Volta (2023)

  On May 30 of this year, the Texan-Puerto Rican band The Mars Volta performed in Chile, at the Movistar Arena, for the first time alone. In 2010 he had presented himself with another musical project with Latin roots: Rage Against the Machine. The Mars volta are a band composed of Omar Rodríguez-López and Cedrix Bixler-Zavala, eclectic and hermetic by nature, difficult to classify into a single genre, aesthetic trend or particular style. Their songs and albums deal with cryptic, paranormal and psychedelic themes. They have become famous as a "cursed band" for having composed songs with a Ouija board brought from Jerusalem, translating poems from the Aramaic that the artifact contained and including them in their songs.
