India, an ancient culture

 India

I would like to visit India. One of the most populous countries in the world with 1,428 million inhabitants, its capital, Mumbai, is the fifth most inhabited city in the world. It has an ancient culture, diversity of philosophy, religion, food and fascinating architecture. The Persian, Arab and Turkish invasions fed the way of interacting with others and with themselves, but this was only the additive of a culture born in the second century BC.

I would like to learn Hindi, and due to that, read the famous Rig-Vedas, philosophy and religions mythology like Buddhism, Hinduism; get to know about musicology, and a lot of its rich modern literature and cinema, like the movie "Alam Ara" or the afforisms "The Harvest of the Fruit" by Rabindranath Tagore; also the dances , its meaning in religion, and the link with music that have always amazed me.

I would like to study some postgraduate in Literature and Music at the University of Delhi, and would be delighted to study, and work on some research, the many links between 20th century pop and Indian music.
